About
After being born in South Carolina, Joanna Grayson moved to Oswestry, England, which was the impetus for her Anglophilia that still exists today. Much to Joanna’s chagrin, her parents relocated the family a few years later from England to a sleepy beach town in Florida where she traded her welly boots for flip-flops. When she was eleven years old, Joanna was invited to be a background actor in There Goes the Bride that was filming in her hometown, and it was during this experience that she met Twiggy, the British fashion model and actor. This meeting was the catalyst for Joanna becoming a model, an endeavor that continues to bring her immense joy today.
Joanna graduated from The Hotchkiss School and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Emory University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Baylor University. She started her career in public relations, news radio, and television in Los Angeles, but then she transitioned to careers in healthcare, publishing, and educational consulting. During the span of her varied careers, she has served as a legal expert witness, board member, certified salary negotiator, image consultant to corporate and creative types, and community advocate.
To balance work with play, Joanna has competed in several challenging athletic competitions including the Hawaii Ironman World Championships, English Channel Solo Swim, Maui Channel Solo Swim, and the Lake Travis Solo Swim.
Today, Joanna spends most of her time on her creative endeavors, swimming in cold water, hiking, reading, traveling, and attending live music events.
